Police hit out at selfish drivers blocking pavement outside Temple Newsam

West Yorkshire Police have hit out at the selfish motorists who have been blocking pavements outside a popular Leeds park.

The force has been urging drivers to stop leaving their cars on the pavement in Bullerthorpe Lane, just outside Temple Newsam Park.

Parents with young children and disabled people have been unable to use the pavement because of the selfish parking.

In a statement on Facebook, West Yorkshire Police's Leeds East team wrote: "AGAIN, Due to the calls we have received, more cars have been issued a ticket today on Bullerthorpe lane for obstruction. This is at the entrance to Temple Newsam park.

"If you are going to the park to get daily exercise then please park legally.

"People are having to go onto the road to pass the cars with young children and disability scooters.

"We have posted similar articles like this a few times over the last few weeks. Please feel free to share this to anyone who parks there.

"We don't like giving tickets, but if you are parked there illegal then please expect a one."
