Police helicopter lights the way for dangerous Mumbles cliffside rescue in the dark

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) were called in to give a helping hand to Mumbles Coastguard Cliffside Rescue as they tried to locate a casualty trapped in darkness on the cliffs.

The Mumbles Rescue team were busy trying to extricate a casualty who had become trapped in a dangerous spot on the cliffs.

Emergency services called in the NPAS to help the coastguard volunteers locate the person.

The police helicopter specialist lighting locator lit up the way to the precariously perched casualty allowing the Mumbles cliffside rescue team to access and evacuate the person to safety.

The Mumbles Coastguard Rescue Team is the volunteer wing of HM Coastguard.

NPAS tweeted at 1.20am on Sunday (September 5): "Assisting @MumblesResue team providing lighting whilst they help a casualty in a precarious position on the cliffs. What a skilled and dedicated team of volunteers."
