Police helicopter joins hunt for suspect after street attack

A police helicopter has been called into action above north Liverpool following an assault.

Emergency services were called to the Kirkdale area at 7.13pm following concerns a man had been attacked.

Officers are unclear where the assault took place, but initial enquiries have led them to believe it was around Daisy Street and Pansy Street.

A National Police Air Service helicopter has been scrambled to the area and is helping Merseyside Police search for an offender.

A heavy police presence has been reported in the streets around Kirkdale, Vauxhall and Everton as that search takes place.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101, or contact the force via Twitter (@MerPolCC) or Facebook (Merseyside Police Contact Centre).

You can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111
