Police helicopter deployed after reports of 'altercation in which blade was used'

The police helicopter has been deployed in Bristol after reports of an "altercation in which a blade was used".

A large police presence and a force helicopter was spotted in the Phoenix Grove area of the city this morning (June 25).

A number of units were called to the Staple Hill area following unconfirmed reports of a blade being brandished.

The police have confirmed an investigation is underway and is asking anyone with information to contact them.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: "Officers were deployed to the Phoenix Grove area of Staple Hill at around 8.10am today following unconfirmed reports of an altercation between two males in which a blade was reportedly used.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information about this incident who has not yet spoken to police should call 101 quoting log 188 of Friday 25 June."

At 10am, a small police presence could be seen remaining in the area.
