Police helicopter chases driver from Cribbs Causeway for 20 minutes

Police have arrested a man after a chase through South Gloucestershire.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said the pursuit started at 7.15pm on Tuesday (September 7), when the driver of a car did not stop when ordered by officers on Merlin Road, Cribbs Causeway.

He added: "The vehicle was pursued by officers and the police helicopter for approximately 20 minutes to a street in Stoke Gifford. There, the driver exited the vehicle and entered a property.

"A 31-year-old man was subsequently arrested from the address on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance.

"He has since been released under investigation while further enquires take place."
