Police helicopter called in to help chase down stolen Mercedes

A man has been arrested following a police pursuit with a stolen vehicle.

The National Police Air Service was called in to assist with the chase, as police on the ground tailed the pinched Mercedes.

With the helicopter hovering overhead, police said the driver "ditched the car and ran". He was then "quickly arrested", the force added.

In a tweet sent at 2:56am on Friday (December 17), South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit wrote:

"Teamwork from Team 2 East & West RPU following a pursuit with this #stolen vehicle.

" @NPASSouthWest overhead as the driver ditched the car and ran.

"Thanks to the eye in the sky, male quickly arrested."
