Police gun, taser stolen from Qld hotel

Anyone who finds the gun and taser is urged not to touch them, and to contact police. (AAP)

A police officer's gun and taser have been stolen from a hotel room in central Queensland.

Preliminary investigations indicate the Miriam Vale Hotel room was broken into between 6.15pm on Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday.

An unloaded Glock and taser were stolen, along with personal items, police said.

The ammunition and taser cartridge were stored separately in the room and were not taken.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Anyone who finds the firearm or taser is advised not to touch them and to contact police immediately.

An internal investigation by Operations Support Command is underway, with oversight by the Ethical Standards Command.
