Police did not provide any details but said it was suspected human remains.

An eyewitness said: "They've been there since yesterday evening with two officers on site throughout the night.

"Construction doesn't seem to have resumed today. I got back from court around 3pm yesterday so don't know if it happened before but I don't remember seeing a cop car in the street prior to that."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.40pm on Tuesday, 29 July, 2025, we were called to a report of possible human remains having been found at a construction site in the Orchard Street area of Paisley.
