Police grow increasingly concerned for "frail looking" Ayrshire man missing since Saturday morning

Police say there is "growing concern" tonight about the welfare of a missing Ayrshire man.

Alastair Murray, 63, was last seen leaving his home in the Campbell Court area of Barshare, Cumnock this morning at 9.45am.

He has not been seen or heard from since.

Police say the disappearance is "completely out of character" and are they are now appealing for information to help find him.

Alastair is described as being 5ft 7ins tall, frail looking and of a slim build with brown hair that his going grey and balding.

He has an eagle tattoo on his arm with the word “Ali” written at the bottom.

At the time he went missing he is believed to have been wearing a pair of dark grey jeans, a dark blue zipper top with a pair of brown boots.

Sergeant Graeme Smith, of Cumnock police station, said: “Along with his family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Alastair’s welfare and are keen to locate him as soon as possible.

“This is completely out of character for Alastair and we would urge anyone who may have seen him to contact us.

Similarly, if Alastair is reading this, let us know you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2042 of Saturday, 15 August, 2020.
