Police got a tip off that a group of youths were carrying knives - this is what they found

Police have seized several large knives from a group of youths in Altrincham.

Three youths were arrested after police discovered the weapons - including a large kitchen knife with a six inch blade - following a search in Broadheath on Saturday.

Sharing news of the arrests on social media, officers explained that the trio were detained just minutes after the force was tipped off about a group of youths carrying knives.

They have warned that anyone who carries a knife can expect to be searched and arrested.

Officers wrote: "Yesterday patrols in the Broadheath area were made aware of a group of youths carrying knives.

"Within minutes of the call Neighbourhood officers detained 3 youths.

"E Relief officer PC W conducted a search of the area and found the pictured weapons leading to all three being arrested.

"The message is clear. Knives have no place on our streets. If you carry them expect to be stopped, searched and arrested".
