Police have today given an update on a suspected drug driver who was arrested after a crash.
East Lancashire Road was closed on December 26 after a crash between two cars, including a private hire taxi at the junction with Stonebridge Lane in Croxteth. Police were called to the scene at around 9pm and the road was closed while both cars were recovered.
Photos showed the impact of the crash at the junction where two ambulances were also called.

A 59-year-old man from Everton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving. In an update today, December 28, Merseyside Police said the driver has now been released under investigation.
A man sustained minor injuries in the crash, police said.
