Police give update after man's body found in park

Police have given an update after a man's body was found in a popular Liverpool park.

The tragic find was made by a member of the public on Friday morning, just inside one of the entrances to Calderstones Park.

Today, police said the man was aged 56.

They also said that the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

His next of kin are being informed.

Three days ago, the fatality was treated by officers as "unexplained."

But following investigations over the weekend, it has been downgraded to non-suspicious.

A file has been passed to the city's coroner.

On Saturday morning, the police tape which had cordoned off an area close to Allerton Road, had gone and the footpath leading into the park was once again accessible.
