Police give update after large emergency service presence in Liverpool street

Police have issued an update after a heavy emergency services presence was seen at a residential street in Anfield last night.

Multiple police cars and ambulances were spotted on Thurnham Street, off Rocky Lane, at around 9pm on Sunday.

Pictures shared with the ECHO show the numerous vehicles with their sirens on parked on the street last night.

Now, Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service have both provided updates about the nature of the incident.

Police said that they were called to the address on Thurnham Street following reports of concern for the safety of a woman in her 30s.

The woman was later taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of concern for safety of a woman in her 30s.

"The woman was taken to hospital."

North West Ambulance Service confirmed that they attended a call out in Thurnham Street on Sunday night, and that five vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an address in Thurnham street on Sunday at 20:42pm.

"Two rapid response vehicles, one advance paramedic, and two ambulances responded to call and one patient was taken to hospital.

"The last vehicle left the scene at 21:35."
