Police forensics swoop on Glasgow east end street after body found in Parkhead flat

Forensic officers have been called out to the east end of Glasgow after the body of a man was found in a flat in Parkhead.

A large police presence is currently responding to the incident on Burgher Street. Forensic officers appear to be combing the scene, with pictures sent to Glasgow Live showing them assessing the close and the garden surrounding the property.

Earlier this morning we reported the body of a man had been discovered late on Sunday night and that police investigators are currently describing his death as 'unexplained'.

The name and age of the man found dead has yet to be made public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "Around 10.55 pm on Sunday, 7 March, 2021, police were called to a flat in Burgher Street, Parkhead, Glasgow, where the body of a man was found within.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of his death which, at this time, officers are treating as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
