Police force reports first drink-driver of December

A police force has reported its first drink-driver of December after the motorist was involved in a collision.

Ceredigion Roads Policing in the west of the country tweeted at 3.22am today (Wednesday) that the driver was found to be two-and-a-half times the legal limit.

It said: "Ceredigion's first drink-driver charged in December 2021. To court December 15. Two-and-a-half times drink drive limit and involved in RTC.

"Facing a minimum 12 months ban, fines, costs etc. We are out there checking. Don't risk it and other people's lives. "

The drink-drive limit in Wales is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Drink-drivers risk being banned from driving, facing an unlimited fine and a prison sentence.
