Police find stash of bikes in garden so large it could be seen from space

Police have discovered a mountain of 'stolen' bikes in a man's back garden so big it could be seen on Google Earth. The pile of bicycles visible via satellite were discovered at a property in Oxford.

Police officers visited the house on Giles Road, Littlemore - and found what looked like hundreds of bikes. A 54-year-old man inhabiting the house was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and possession of the criminal property.

The man was later released under investigation. According to local neighbours police were at the address sorting through the hundreds of bikes.

The bikes can be seen on Google Maps satellite images filling the garden. People have taken to social media to comment on the photos.

One said: "Cracks me up no one spotted it sooner. Surely you'd think it suspicious to have a garden overflowing with bikes?" Many agreed with this sentiment, wondering "Did the neighbours not think it strange...?"

"What they got, 222 Kids and Counting lol?" Others revealed the bikes have "been there for years".
