Two men have appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of another man who was shot in the face at a home in Adelaide's north on Saturday night.

The co-accused, aged 31 and 30, had their identities suppressed by the Elizabeth Magistrates Court, where neither applied for bail.

The victim, 27-year-old Shaun Alan Edwards, presented at the Lyell McEwin Hospital with a gunshot wound to his face just before 7:00pm on Saturday.

He was then rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

Police believe the shooting had occurred on Burwood Road at Munno Para West a short time earlier.

The 31-year-old, of no fixed address, is accused of shooting the victim with a sawn-off shotgun.

He was arrested last night after he allegedly crashed a car into a bollard outside Angle Vale Primary School.

Police were called to Fradd Road at Angle Vale about 1:45am and found the Mitsubishi sedan.

Police allegedly recognised the car as being involved in the Munno Para West incident, setting up cordons and searching the area.

The man had allegedly fled the scene, but was tracked down and arrested nearby.

He allegedly had an unregistered and unlicensed sawn-off shotgun, concealed and loaded, in his possession.

He and his co-accused, a 30-year-old Salisbury man, have both been charged with attempted murder and causing serious harm with intent.

Police said the two men are known to each other.

They will both next appear in court in November.
