Water police have found lifejackets and fishing rods in the water near a boat belonging to two fishermen missing in waters off Brisbane.
Police said they called family to tell them they were coming back from their fishing trip near the Port of Brisbane at 10:15pm on Saturday.
But Carwyn Massey, 25, and Timothy Maher, 31, never arrived.
Their car and boat trailer were still parked at the Whyte Island Boat Ramp.
The missing boat, a 3.3 metre aluminium tinnie, was found near Green Island yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Lindsay Kilpatrick said it was found submerged with a small part of the bow sticking out of the water.
"Weather has eased a little bit this morning which is assisting in our search this morning," he said.
"We're worried because the two gentlemen weren't located with the vessel.
"Their families are extremely worried at this stage as anyone would be in these circumstances.
"With any cold weather and water, time is a factor and the number of resources out in the bay at the moment is quite substantial."
Twenty vessels are taking part in the search, including water police, Volunteer Marine Rescue, and the Queensland Yacht Squadron.
SES volunteers are also searching Green Island and St Helena Island.
Both men are from Brisbane.
Rhiannon Massey, the sister of one of the men, took to social media yesterday in a desperate call to find her brother.
"My brother Carwyn Massey has been missing since last night," Ms Massey said.
"If anyone hears anything please contact the police or myself and my family."
Windy conditions hampered yesterday's search, which included 13 police and coast guard boats, and several helicopters.
Inspector Karl Hahne the swell was as high as 1.5 metres.
"With these windy conditions the men, if they are in the water, could float a long way," he said.
