Police find knuckle dusters after pulling over suspected drink driver

A suspected drink driver has been arrested after police found knuckle dusters in his possession.

Greater Manchester Police's specialist traffic officers were patrolling Bolton town centre in the early hours of this morning, when they pulled over a car in Trinity Street.

The male driver was breathalysed at the side of the road and provided a sample of 44mcg per 100ml of breath - the drink drive limit is 35.

He was also found to be in possession of knuckle dusters.

He was arrested and taken to custody.

A spokesman for the Traffic division of GMP wrote on Twitter: XT18 has just locked up a male on Trinity Street Bolton.

"The driver provided a positive breath reading at the roadside and was also found in possession of a knuckle duster!

"He's now in custody awaiting interview after providing a evidential breath sample of 44."
