Police find knife close to where man was attacked on Bristol to Bath cycle path

Police have confirmed a knife was found close to where an attempted robbery took place yesterday (Wednesday).

Officers were called to an attack on the Bristol to Bath cycle path just off Forest Road at about 7.15pm.

Yesterday, police said a man had been taken to hospital from Fishponds but his injuries were not life threatening or life changing.

And today, a spokesperson confirmed a knife was found nearby.

He said: "Our investigations continue into an attempted robbery. During the incident the victim suffered a leg wound.

"A knife was later recovered nearby."

Police said they are searching for two suspects who left the scene.

Anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information is asked to contact police quoting reference 5219291413.

A witness told Bristol Live that they saw multiple police cars around the area during the time of the aggravated robbery.
