Police find huge Rambo knife after chasing down a stolen van

Police found this huge Rambo knife after chasing down a van that failed to stop - after the driver unwittingly overtook a specialist unit.

Police in Trafford started following the white van after spotting it being driven erratically, but when they caught up with the vehicle, the driver sped off.

The driver turned on to Wythenshawe Road and overtook two cars - which unbeknown to them were unmarked vehicles being driven by Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit officers.

Officers followed the van onto the Broomwood estate in Timperley where it was abandoned, chased down two men and seized a large 'Rambo' knife.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of a series of offences, including theft of vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both are currently in custody.

Sharing details of the incident on social media, officers wrote: "Fantastic teamwork between B relief response and Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit."
