Police find huge knife and class A drugs after stopping 'suspicious' driver

Police found more than they were expecting after stopping a driver in a street in Bolton.

Officers said they believed the person was involved in dealing drugs in the The Haulgh area of the town and had stopped the car, a silver VQ hatchback, as part of their investigation yesterday afternoon.

But, as well as finding class A drugs, they also discovered two weapons, including a huge blade.

In a post on Facebook, a spokesman for GMP's Bolton South team said: "Suspicious vehicle stopped in the Haulgh area of Bolton by the neighbourhood policing team, believed to be involved in dealing drugs.

"Occupier of vehicle was found in possession of class A drugs along with 2 weapons and was arrested at scene.
