Cannabis plants with a street value of around £180,000 were discovered following reports of suspicious activity at a house in a Nottinghamshire village.
Officers from the Ashfield neighbourhood policing team seized 178 plants during a raid in Lindley Street, Selston, on Saturday, May 23.
Residents had become concerned over suspicious activity at the property in the village.
The grow was was removed by Nottinghamshire Police officers, who estimate it to have a value of around £180,000.
Police constable Ebony Robinson, who was at the scene, said: "Local residents alerted the force by ringing our non-emergency contact number, 101, and we were quickly on the scene.
"As a result of their contact we have disrupted an organised and professional cannabis production operation.
"Nottinghamshire Police is committed to robustly investigating crime associated with cannabis in its bid to protect the public.
"Those who choose to grow cannabis must consider the impact and potential risks involved – not only to themselves and their own property, but also the wider neighbouring community."
The force says there have been no arrests in connection with the incident, and says possession of a class-B drug is punishable by up to five years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.
Supply of cannabis is punishable by up to 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both. Police can also issue a warning or a fine of £90 if someone is found with cannabis.
A spokesperson for the force added: "If anyone has any information, please call 101 quoting incident number 300 of 23 May 2020."
