Police find firearms after man dies in house

Replica and deactivated firearms were found in a house after the owner died, leading to a police search of the property.

The firearms were found in the house on Glendevon Road in Huyton following the death of a man who lived there.

Police are at the property today to continue their search and remove the replica and deactivated firearms.

Locals contacted the ECHO after they saw police vehicles parked up on Glendevon Road.

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that officers are carrying out an ongoing search at a house in Glendevon Road, Huyton today.

"This search is in connection with replica and deactivated firearms found when an occupier recently passed away at the location. There are no criminal offences disclosed, no risk to others, and we are ensuring that all items are properly removed."

Police thanked residents for their patience.
