
A Nelson Bay man facing drug charges after a raid in Newcastle will remain behind bars at least until his next court appearance.
Officers from the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad, Northern Region High Visibility Unit and Operation Utah Hunter went to a home on King Street, Newcastle, about 9am on Thursday.
Police searched the home and allegedly seized methylamphetamine, liquid gamma-Hydroxybutyric (GHB), more than $135,000 cash and mobile phones.
Officers arrested a 35-year-old man at the property, as well as a 28-year-old woman who arrived during the raid - she was taken into custody for alleged breach of bail.
The man - Rohan Michael Grant - was charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
The woman was charged with breach of bail and possessing a prohibited drug.
Mr Grant did not apply for bail when he faced Newcastle Local Court on Friday. The matter was adjourned until Tuesday.
The woman was granted conditional bail by police and will face Wyong Local Court on June 28.
