Police officers investigating a fatal collision in Sandiacre have located the driver of the Toyota Aygo following an earlier appeal.
The driver is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday, April 17, just after 9am, following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Derby Road.
A large cordon has remained in place for most of the day but it has now been lifted.
Sergeant Scott Riley from the collision investigation unit, said: "I would like to thank the local community and businesses in Sandiacre for their support during a very difficult few hours.
"Thank you to everyone who also sent in information that has assisted us in locating the driver.
"Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of the collision."
