Police find cannabis factory at one of a row of semis in Port Talbot

A large amount of cannabis plants have been discovered address in Port Talbot.

Following an intelligence led operation, officers from South Wales Police raided an address on Gordon Road in the Sandfields area on Wednesday, March 3.

Officers discovered a large quantity of cannabis plants being cultivated at the property.

Sandfields West councillor Suzanne Paddison said: "We are not too troubled with drugs in this ward, but there are always individuals who will see an opportunity.

"It's not a common occurrence. I don't know if it was anyone local which helped with intelligence, but if it was it was good citizenship because we don't need that sort of thing around here".

No arrests have yet been made following the discovery (South Wales Police)

A spokesman for the force said: "The house has been made safe and the plants removed.

"The matter remains under investigation".
