A body has been found in the search for a missing woman from the Vale of Belvoir.

Wendy Grass, 61, was reported missing from her home on Wednesday, November 10.

Her family called her disappearance "out of character" and police now believe they may have found her body.

She was reported to have been wearing a long, grey-belted cardigan and grey trousers. She may also have been wearing a long, black puffer-style jacket. It is believed she may have also been carrying a black rucksack.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Although the body has not been formally identified, it is believed to be that of 61-year-old Wendy Grass, who had had last been seen at around 6am on Wednesday, November 10 and was reported missing a short time later.

"Her next of kin have been informed.

"The body of the woman was located near Stathern.

"At this time, her death is not believed to be suspicious and as such, a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Police said the body was found on Friday afternoon, November 12, near Stathern, which is about 10 miles north of Melton Mowbray.
