Police have found a body in the search for missing Midlothian man Cameron Imrie.

The 48-year-old went missing from the Bush Estate, Penicuik , at around 12.10pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials investigating his disappearance now say that a body has been discovered in Glencorse Burn - less than a mile away from the estate.

The death is being treated by officers as unexplained.

Police Scotland Chief Inspector Arron Clinkscales, Midlothian Area Commander, said: “No formal identification has been made at this time but the family of Cameron Imrie, who was reported missing from Penicuik on Tuesday, February 25, have been informed.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
