Police find body in search for missing man Joseph Watson

A body has been found in the search for Joseph Watson who has been missing since Thursday.

Police have confirmed the body has been found within Crookston Wood near to Lyoncross Road.

Officers issued an appeal yesterday in a bid to trace the 61-year-old from Pollok, saying they were 'increasingly concerned' for his whereabouts.

Joseph Watson was last seen around 1.40pm on Thursday, June 24 near to Barrhead Road, Pollok, Glasgow.

The family of Joseph Watson have been made aware as cops released the update today.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the body of a man has been found within Crookston Wood near to Lyoncross Road, Glasgow.

"The family of Joseph Watson, reported missing from the Pollok area of the city on Thursday, 24, June, have been informed.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
