Police find body in search for missing boy, 17, who vanished on Saturday morning

A body has been found in the search for a teenager who vanished in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Jack Gillespie, 17, was reported missing by his worried relatives who had not heard from him.

Dorset Police launched a search for the boy who was last seen in the village of Worth Matravers.

Officers were also supported by the coastguard and Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).

Sadly, cops found a body in the area around 9.15pm on Saturday night and while formal identification has yet to take place, Jack’s family has been informed, reports Dorset Live.

Police have said the death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We would like to thank all those who assisted with the searches and our thoughts are with Jack’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time."
