Police find body in search for missing 93-year-old with dementia

Officers searching for a missing 93-year-old from Yorkshire have found a body.

West Yorkshire Police launched a missing persons appeal after Barry Scott, from Cleckheaton, was reported missing.

The force issued pictures of the proud pensioner in his military uniform, with several medals pinned to his chest in one of the photos.

Mr Scott was last seen on Turnsteads Close at around 5.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) and police said they were particularly concerned for his welfare because of his dementia and how frail he is.

Sadly, a body was found in Cleckheaton this morning and although a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said that formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Scott's family have been made aware of the development.

A separate search is continuing for another pensioner, 81-year-old Colin Vasey. He has now not been seen for 10 days.
