Police find almost 300 cannabis plants during raid in Leeds

Police seized almost 300 cannabis plants after carrying out a raid at two houses in south Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police conducted searches of the properties in Thorpe Road, Middleton, Leeds, on Tuesday, February 4 after obtaining warrants.

During the searches, they found a total of 298 cannabis plants.

They seized the plants and are now trying to track down the people who set up the farm.

Inspector Lucy Leadbeater tweeted: "Two properties were searched and 298 cannabis plants were recovered from within.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspects."

Cannabis is a Class B drug. People caught in possession of Cannabis can be issued with a £90 on the spot fine and people who supply and produce the substance can be jailed for up to 14 years.
