Police discovered a stash of £30,000 in cash - and suspected Class B drugs - during a raid on a home in Wigan.

Officers searched a property on Warrington Road on Thursday (August 3).

A man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession with intent to supply drugs.

He's been released under investigation.

An officer from GMP's Wigan West team posted a statement about the raids on Facebook.

It read: "On Thursday, August 3, officers from the Worsley Mesnes Neighbourhood Policing Team, assisted by the District Tasking Team executed two search warrants issued under the misuse of drugs act in the Wigan area.

"At an address on Warrington Road, a substantial amount of a suspected Class B controlled drug was seized, along with over £30,000 in cash, suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity.

"A male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug, and money laundering. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries."

Anyone with information on drugs offences in Wigan can contact police on 101.
