Police find 100 cannabis plants while attending fire in Shotton Colliery

Police have uncovered more than 100 cannabis plants at a property in County Durham.

Durham Constabulary officers were called to an address at Shotton Colliery on Sunday after reports of a fire and discovered the grow.

The cannabis plants and a substantial amount of equipment was recovered.

A Durham Constabulary spokesman said: “An investigation is now under way.

"If you have any information which may assist us in this, please contact us via 101 or the Live Chat facility located on our website.

“If you have any other information you'd like to share in relation to drugs or criminality in your area, please do get in touch.
