Police filmed in SNOWBALL FIGHT with residents praised for 'positive policing'

Police officers pelted residents as a friendly snowball fight broke out on the streets of London.

The force engaged in a battle with locals after the capital was blanketed in six inches of snow.

Met officers had to think fast after a prankster hit one with an icy blast down the back of his uniform outside a block of flats.

They retaliated by scraping snow off their patrol car and gave as good as they got before the brilliant clip was uploaded to social media.

TikToker Abdur Siza captured the moment the officers came under siege, showcasing the strong community bond as the winter weather took control.

He and one of the officers shared a fist-bump before the snowball fight broke out.

The clip shows the officers lobbing snowballs across the road from their parked car at an unknown target.

It started with Abdur crumbling snow down an officer's neck as he says "I'm sorry mate, I love you" and laughs out loud.

A second policeman then starts crafting another snowball from the roof of a police car as laughter bellowed in the background.

Mirror Online have contacted the Met Police for their reaction but the video's comments section was flooded with positive messgaes.

One wrote: "Feds that go with the bants with the public is what will get them closer to the community."

Another posted: "Now this is what you call community policing. That's how you keep people's opinion on the police positive!"

A third said: "You haven’t lived if you haven’t had a full blown snowball fight with police."

One TikToker joked: "Hi my house is being burgled. Them: sorry our units are busy."

On Monday, delayed commuters hurled snowballs at each other as they passing the time during mass travel chaos by lobbing frozen missiles across the platform.

The fun fight took place at West Ham station in east London as chilly passengers battled each other as well as the long waits to get home.

The groups have been praised the video for showing the fun side of commuting in London, a far cry from their reputation for being moody on their commutes.

One person said: "Health and safety executives having palpations watching this."

Another teased: "Sending sympathy to all girls who can't throw snowballs very far."

The capital is still experiencing freezing temperatures and icy surfaces but there is no snow forecast for the rest of the week.
