Police 'extremely concerned' for an elderly man with dementia who is missing from his south Manchester home

*UPDATE* Police have now confirmed James has been found safe and well.

Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after a man with dementia was reported missing from his south Manchester home.

Officer say 79-year-old James O’Donnell, who lives on Pearn Road in Burnage , was reported missing at 0948hrs this morning (January 8).

James was last seen at his home address last night (January 7).

He was wearing a big winter coat.

He is described as slim with short white hair and a bald patch.

James is said to have spoken regularly about Wythenshawe over the last few weeks and he often plays bowls at the Lifestyle Centre in the area.

James also attends Hough End Leisure Centre every day.

“We are concerned for his welfare due to his deteriorating mental health,” a GMP spokesperson said on Facebook.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of James is asked to contact police on 101 and quote reference number MSP/06A3/0000007/20.
