A police helicopter was dispatched alongside a large number of officers during an incident just outside of Calverton last night (Friday, June 5).
Residents living in the Calverton and Arnold area reported seeing the police helicopter circling overhead at around 10pm.
Nottinghamshire Police said "eight call-signs" were called upon just before 9pm to help search for a "suicidal man" who had gone missing in Calverton Hill, near the Priory Hospital.
The helicopter was then dispatched at around 9.45pm to assist.
Emma Morley, Nottinghamshire Police's call centre manager, said: "We had a report of a suicidal male saying that they wanted to harm themselves.
"The helicopter was helping search for him [as it was] a large area.
"We located the man and returned him to hospital."
The man was found at around 10.05pm, resolving the incident.
