A car crashed into a central reservation after a chase by police.
Officers were made aware of a red Mini which had failed to stop, just before 10pm yesterday (Tuesday) on the A57 near Warrington.
After a short pursuit, the vehicle collided with a central reservation and one man fled on foot towards Old Liverpool Road.
No arrests have been made, said Cheshire Police.
Nearby residents reported "police everywhere round here in marked and unmarked cars."
They also said on social media that officers were searching gardens.
It is not known at this stage if the car was stolen.
