Police say they are following a "positive line of enquiry" after a man armed with two weapons entered a nursery in Toryglen yesterday.
The alarm was raised on Wednesday morning after the man entered the building, allegedly with a machete and a gun, shared by Orchard Grove Kindergarten and Southside Boxing Summer Camp in Glasgow.
He is said to have walked into the building before running off into woodland in the Prospecthill Circus area.
Local residents also reported seeing a helicopter circling the area around 10.45am on Wednesday on social media.
One woman, who works at Orchard Grove Kindergarten, told Lanarkshire Live: “A man turned up with a machete and a gun at about 10am.
“The kids were were all really scared and it was quite worrying to be honest.
“Some of the parents have come to pick up their kids but we’ve been assured everyone is safe.”

Armed police enter the property
Another woman whose nephew attends the nursery said she was called by a neighbour at 11.30am to let her know about the incident.
She said: "I went into shock and panic. Adrenaline kicked in and I got in my car and drove over straight away.
"'I'm not sure if the kids knew what was happening outside, the nursery handled the situation professionally and calmly.
"The police initially advised them to lock the doors and windows etc and to advise all parents not to go near the nursery until they were told otherwise."
Another woman whose two kids attend the summer camp said her ex-partner called her to tell her what was going on when he turned up to pick up their kids at 11am.
She said: "My initial reaction was shock you don’t expect this to happen on your door step when you think your kids are safe.
"The building was surrounded by police and armed police had entered the woods behind the building to look for the guy.
A local, who lives nearby, said: “The man turned up at the boxing club with a blade and a gun.
