Police enquiries continue after a man was found dead in West Lothian last night

Police enquiries continue after a man was found dead in West Lothian last night.

Officers were called to the scene to Falside Crescent in Bathgate last night at around 8pm and a 42-year-old man died following a disturbance.

Locals reported hearing a police helicopter hovering low overhead in the area last night and officers warn they will remain in the area today.

Police vehicles are parked on the street and a tent has been erected in the front garden in Falside Crescent.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 42-year-old man has died following a disturbance at a property on Falside Crescent in Bathgate, which was reported to police around 8pm on Monday, 5 July.

“A 32-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

“Local residents will notice a police presence in the area while this work continues. However, our enquiries so far have established this was a contained event and there was no risk to the wider public.”
