South Wales Police has this morning discovered a 'significant' amount of drugs and money at a property in Pontcanna.
Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team carried out a warrant at the terraced property in Kings Road at around 6am.
Around £30,000 was recovered from the house and separate quantities of what appears to be uncut heroin were found in the house and in nearby bushes.
Two men aged 48 and 38 and three women aged 40, 43, and 71 have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and money laundering. They remain in custody.
Sergeant Steve Thomas, from the Canton neighbourhood policing team, said:
"This was an intelligence-led operation that has proved successful with a significant amount of drugs being seized and taken off the streets of Cardiff.
"I hope the local community are reassured by the action we have taken today.
"This warrant demonstrates that we do act upon information received and would encourage anyone with suspicions about drug activity to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
