Police dog Xander tracks down drink-drive suspect on the run

A drink-drive suspect who tried to escape justice hadn't reckoned with the dogged police work of PD Xander.

The man fled from officers, abandoning his vehicle, in the incident in Speke on Saturday night (October 16).

And he thought he had managed to give him the slip, taking refuge in a bush to conceal himself.

But he had not counted on PD Xander being an expert at hide and seek, and he was quickly tracked down and arrested.

Mersey Police Dogs revealed the arrest on their Twitter account.

They wrote: "A drink driver thought he had made good his escape after he ran off from his vehicle in Speke last night.

"Unfortunately for him PD Xander loves a good game of hide and seek and it didn't take him long to find him hiding in a bush #arrested #dontdrinkanddrive."
