Police dog Ted helps detain suspected flasher after car chase in Trafford

A police dog has helped detain a suspected flasher after a car chase tonight.

Officers said they received numerous calls about a man exposing himself in a number of different locations across Trafford this evening.

They identified a suspect in a car and after a short chase he crashed.

It is not known exactly where the pursuit came to an end, but a picture shared by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) showed a Ford Focus with its front end lodged in some bushes.

The suspect is said to have attempted to run away after crashing.

However a dog unit was called in and they said a police pooch called Ted helped them detain the suspect who has now been arrested.

In a post on their Facebook page GMP Trafford South said: "Following a number of concerning reports regarding a male exposing himself across the Trafford District, officers engaged in a short pursuit resulting in the vehicle crashing and a male trying to make off from officers on foot.

"Thankfully Police Dog Ted was on hand and was able to successfully detain the male.

"Many thanks to the public that made calls into GMP with sightings of the vehicle. #BiteOfTheAction#GettingPawsOnWithTheSuspect"
