Police dog praised for tracing 'drunk driver who tried to escape cops' in Falkirk

A police dog has been praised for tracing an alleged drunk driver who reportedly tried to escape police in Falkirk.

Officers attempted to stop a car on Norwood Avenue in Bonnybridge around 3.35am on Saturday November 13.

The driver reportedly then made off on foot but police dog Saul was able to find him hiding in a wooded area of Bonnybridge Golf Course.

Officers posted a picture of the brave German Shepherd on Twitter as they hailed him for his expert detective work.

A 37-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
