Oz from Mersey Police Dogs had a successful evening on Friday (September 17) while helping his handler and officers conduct checks of pubs in the Knowsley area.
Oz managed to find various Class A and Class B drugs which had been hidden.
In addition, a male offender didn't fancy taking on Oz and made a run for it. He was finally arrested and found to be in possession of Class A and B substances.
For a dog to be considered for a police department, it must first pass a basic obedience training course.
The dog must be able to obey the commands of their handler without hesitation, and dogs used in law enforcement are trained to either be single or dual purpose.
