Police dog Dudley sniffs out rucksack full of drugs and cash linked to suspected dealer

The Merseyside Police dog handling unit despatched Dudley last night to help sniff out incriminating evidence linked to a suspected drug dealer.

Police officers caught up with the suspect after he tried to flee on foot from a patrol. He was detained after he had quickly stashed his drugs away whilst on the run, the force said. The patrol called on the police dog handling unit and Dudley quickly sniffed out a rucksack containing drugs and cash.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Dudley was quickly out again on the streets of Liverpool successfully sniffing out another drugs haul.

Merseyside Police tweeted at 4.43am: "A busy shift for PD Dudley. Having arrived in the area after a male who'd made off from patrols had been detained he located a large amount of cash & a rucksack full of drugs hidden nearby before rolling straight on to another search where he recovered Class B Drugs.

"Good Boy!"
