Police dog Annie surprises violent thug who assaulted ex-partner

A police dog has been congratulated for managing to detain a violent thug after he managed to evade police patrols.

Mersey Police Dogs tweeted that overnight, a male had violently assaulted his ex-partner at an unspecified address, left the premises and managed to evade police patrols.

After disappearing for an amount of time, he made a return to the address some time later - where PD Annie was first on the scene to greet him.

PD Annie managed to detain the offender until officers arrived and subsequently arrested him.

On twitter, Merseyside police dogs said: "Overnight a male violently assaulted his ex-partner, made off from the address and evaded patrols before returning some time later.

" PD Annie was first on scene and detained the male until other officers arrived and arrested him. Well done Annie!"
