Police raided three cannabis farms yesterday

Officers from Merseyside Police raided three separate cannabis farms and made a number of arrests.

Police uncovered three cannabis farms and made a number of arrests for various crimes during raids in the Bootle area on Thursday, April 21. Officers from Operation Pelican, Merseyside Police's campaign to tackle drug crime in North Liverpool and Sefton, attended a number of properties and found huge cannabis farms.

Officers uncovered two cannabis farms within 10 minutes on Wadham Road in Bootle. A 24-year-old man from the Bootle area was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis after police gained entry and located a cannabis farm across three floors containing around 200 plants.

While officers were covering the rear of the property they also spotted a stolen moped in the rear of a neighbouring address. This has been recovered and will be returned to its owner following a forensic examination.

Officers attended another address on the same road after suspecting there to be another farm. After forcing entry officers found a second, larger farm of around 300 plants spread across three floors.

South Sefton Community Team were also in attendance and spotted a wanted male entering a house across the street. The man was detained and arrested to appear in court.

Officers from Operation Pelican later raided a third property in the Bootle area following an overwhelming smell of cannabis. After gaining entry police found another large farm located across four rooms containing over 100 plants.

Specialist cannabis dismantling teams are set to dismantle the farms.
