Police dish out 11 fines after breaking up lockdown flouting 24th birthday party

Police broke up a 24th birthday party which was breaking lockdown social distancing rules.

Officers handed out 11 fines after raiding a property in Waterhead, Oldham, last weekend.

Police say everyone at the party was from a different household.

Under current lockdown rules nobody can meet anyone from outside their household or support bubble indoors.

A post on the GMP Failsworth and Hollinwood Facebook page said: "Over the weekend Oldham Police received reports of an ongoing 24th birthday party at an address in Waterhead.  

"On arrival at the property, a group of people where inside the address, all from different households. 

"11 Fixed Penalty Notices were served."
